Mulheres negras e empoderamento: desafios e conquistas

Abstract

Empowerment has been increasingly highlighted in recent years due to black women’s growing participation in spaces that were once exclusively reserved for men, such as leadership positions, political participation, schools, etc. This research was based on the following question: how have the challenges and achievements of black women contributed to female empowerment? The main objective of this research was to understand the challenges and achievements of black women's empowerment. The authors researched, namely Bello (2015), Aquino (2017), and Oliveira (2018), showed that the presence of feminism contributes not only to understanding the advances achieved over the years but also to recognizing the historical achievements of feminism. This investigation - which was bibliographical - pointed out the major adversities in terms of scientific studies that provided information related to the objectives, demonstrating the need for research on the subject to break barriers and strengthen the relationship between cultural and historical factors. The importance of this research on the empowerment of black women aims to encourage researchers to broaden and deepen this discussion, considering how indispensable it is in the scientific environment related to the English language.
