Os benefícios do uso da plataforma Shine On no ensino de língua inglesa

Abstract

The use of technology in education is imperative nowadays. In English teaching, in particular, there are lots of technological resources, including learning platforms, apps for learning vocabulary and grammar and educational games. This study aims to analyze the use of the digital platform Shine On to learn English. The objectives are to describe the digital activities offered on the Shine On platform and to analyze these activities to evaluate if they promote the development of language skills. This study wants to answer the following question: What are the benefits of using the Shine On platform in English learning? The specific goals are to describe the digital activities offered on the platform and to analyze them to check if they develop the language skills.This study is based on Piaget (2010), Prensky (2001), and Base Nacional Comum Curricular (2018). Regarding the type of approach, the research was qualitative. From the perspective of its nature, this research is classified as basic. Concerning its objectives, a descriptive approach was chosen. As for the procedures, the research was both bibliographic and documentary. We have found out that the access to the Shine On platform allows students to practice the English language skills, improving learning effectiveness by complementing the studies in the classroom.
