Uma análise e reflexão sobre as abordagens e propostas de atividades da coleção de livros didáticos junior time 4 à luz da BNCC

Abstract

The object of study of this research are the units and activities that make up the Junior time 4 - Student's book (2016) and Junior time - Activity book (2016) of the 4th grade of elementary school, with emphasis on the representative resources of the English language, such as culture and images, and how they are related to the different ways of language representation and to the development of speaking, listening, writing and reading in English. The research had, as its main objective, to investigate the existence of the general and specific English language competences proposed by the BNCC (2018) in the mentioned works, through a bibliographic research with a qualitative approach. This research is based on the theories of the following authors: Araújo (2022), Brasil (2018), Dulay, Burt and Krashen (1982) and Vasconcelos (2022), among others. The findings show that the textbooks Junior Time 4 (2016) addresses, in an insufficient manner, because the same does not meet the requirements laid out in the competencies of the BNCC (2018).
