| Título: | Anne of green gables e Pollyanna: o uso da imaginação como válvula de escape |

| Resumo: | O presente trabalho teve como objetivo geral analisar como as protagonistas dos romances Anne of Green Gables (1908), de Lucy M. Montgomery, e Pollyanna (1913), de Eleanor H. Porter, utilizam a imaginação como válvula de escape para superar suas frustrações. Como objetivos específicos, o contexto histórico das duas obras literárias, a caracterização do gênero literário romance infanto-juvenil, o conceito e o uso da imaginação foram investigados. A metodologia utilizada foi a pesquisa bibliográfica, com apoio nos trabalhos dos seguintes autores: Bachelard (1990), Foster (2005), Gancho (2002), Moisés (2006), Ribbot (1906), Soares (2007), Vygotsky; Fróis (2012). Da análise comparativa dos dados coletados, constatou-se que ambas as protagonistas utilizam a imaginação como forma de amenizar a dura realidade em que vivem e que essa atitude influencia positivamente aqueles com quem elas convivem, o que confirma as hipóteses levantadas |
| Abstract: | This research had as general goal to analyze how the protagonists of the books Anne of Green Gables (1908) by Lucy M. Montgomery and Pollyanna (1913) by Eleanor H. Porter, use their imagination as a scape valve. As specific goals, the historical contexts of the two literary works, the characterization of the literary genre, the concept and the use of imagination were investigated. The methodology used was the bibliographic research supported by the works of the authors: Bachelard (1990), Foster (2005), Gancho (2002), Moisés (2006), Ribbot (1906), Soares (2007) and Vygotsky and Fróis (2012). From the comparative analysis of the collected data, it was found that both protagonists use the imagination to soften the harsh reality in which they live and that this attitude positively influences those whom they live with, which confirms the hypotheses raised |
