A evasão na educação de jovens e adultos: experiências em escolas no município de Oeiras-PI

Abstract

With the theme of dropout in Youth and Adult Education, a qualitative research was carried out based on the problem question: What are the main factors that contribute to school dropout in Youth and Adult Education in schools in Oeiras-Pi? This resulted in the general objective of analyzing the process of dropout of young people and adults in schools in Oeiras-Pi. And, specific objectives were outlined: identifying the factors that contribute to school dropout in EJA in Oeiras-PI; list the actions carried out at the school to ensure students remain at EJA; and evaluate the educational policies and practices in force in schools in Oeiras-PI. The relevance of the investigation is due to the social and educational implications surrounding the phenomenon. The theoretical foundation is supported by Jardilino (2015), Freire (1967) and Moura (2003), among others. And, the methodological foundation consists of the theoretical thoughts of Moresi (2003), with a qualitative and descriptive approach. During the research, interviews were carried out with six collaborators, including teachers and managers who work in the type of education researched. The results obtained demonstrate that students seek financial improvements and therefore leave school in the background and also the difficulties in staying at school. It is concluded that students return to school with the intention of improving their well-being and quality of life, as well as feeling the desire to learn; The permanence of these students is still difficult, as they deal daily with factors such as work, family, time and others and the hybrid system was implemented, which allows the student to attend their classes from wherever they are, although its efficiency is not unanimous.
