Biblioteca escolar e o incentivo ao hábito de leitura

Abstract

The presente study focuses on the school library and promotion of Reading habits. The general objective was defined as understand the importance of the brazilian school library in encouraging the habit of reading. Four specific objectives were established: bring the historical trajectory of the school library in Brazil, show the contribution of the Scholl library and school librarian in promoting the Reading habit, identify some public policies regarding books and libraries, and present law 12.244/2010 and its relevance to the school library. The metodology used was bibliographic research and documentary in the field of library Science and related áreas. As a resulto the significant relevance of the school library in promoting the Reading habit, providing support for its effective implementation. Howeyer, it requires recognition and support frow the governement to function fully and fulfill its purpose.
