O signo linguístico e redes sociais: a construção do texto e suas representações na formação do leitor

Abstract

One of the characteristics of school education, in general, is the ability to adapt to changes that occur naturally over the years. Therefore, since Portuguese language teaching is part of this larger teaching structure, one cannot fail to take into account the new contexts in which the educational structure is inserted, including, obviously, the new tools from which teaching and learning develop. One of these new contexts is the world of social networks, where the written or spoken word can manifest itself in a variety of connotations. In this sense, when the written or spoken word appears surrounded by symbolism, the study of signs becomes a necessity, leading us to reflect on the form and purpose of discourses disseminated on social networks. Thus, we can state that the nature of this work starts, in principle, from the representations that a text can have for the formation of a reader. Obviously, we will deal with these representations, specifically, in the context of social networks. Based on this initial theoretical approach, the central problem that will guide the development of this research will be: how can we facilitate the interpretation of discourse on social media, based on the study of signs? This central problem raises other questions that can help to consolidate some ideas. These questions are posed as follows: in what way do social media enhance the introduction of linguistic signs in interpersonal relationships, often determining behaviors? Going further, how can educational practice be integrated into a universe where signs are used in mass media to construct discourses loaded with symbolism? Based on these questions, we can launch the following objective of this work: to examine the construction of text on social media, based on the study of linguistic signs. Finally, we hope that by the end of this research, in addition to responding to the provocations highlighted in this summary, we can also foster new reflections on this topic, even facilitating new research.
